Despite expanding our office space by 551 square meters and welcoming more team members in Ølensvåg, we have reduced our energy consumption by nearly 100 000 kilowatt-hours. This has been possible thanks to a range of energy-saving measures and smart solutions. Our goal is to achieve a 30 per cent reduction in power consumption per square meter from 2021 to 2024.

The measures we have implemented include: 

• Installation of boreholes for geothermal heating 
• Upgrading to new cooling systems and waterborne heating systems 
• Use of waterborne floor heating in new parts of the building 
• Switching to LED bulbs and installing motion sensors for lighting 
• Moving servers to cloud operations 
• Energy-conscious colleagues

How can you as an employee contribute? 

Here are some simple steps each of us can take to help further reduce our energy consumption: 

• Turn off all devices when not in use: This includes lights, computers, printers, projectors, and monitors. 
• Keep doors and windows closed when the air conditioning or heating is on: This prevents energy loss. 
• Use digital files instead of printouts: Reduces both paper consumption and energy used to operate printers and copiers.
